Whilst I’m on an ‘asking for things’ day…
As I’ve mentioned here I’m going to have a stand in the ‘Marketplace‘ area at the Lambeth Conference. It will have books, calendars, cards, cartoon licence information and suchlike. I have a small team of people who are kindly helping me to run it, but I could do with one or two more people.
The dates are as follows: Monday 21 July – Saturday 2 August, closed on Thursday 24 July and Sunday 27 July. Opening times are 11am to 9pm except on the final Saturday when it closes at 6pm. The Marketplace is open to the public as well as all of the bishops, spouses and everyone else involved.
I am looking for anyone who would enjoy helping with such a thing who would be willing to be around even for a single day. Food would be provided and I do have some accommodation available for those able to help for several days. I plan to have several people around on each day to look after the stand so that there are plenty of opportunities for breaks, mingling with bishops etc. The number of people I will need does depend upon various factors – the plans of one or two people I’m still waiting to hear from being one. If you might be interested send me a message and we can talk.
I forgot to say – there will be special badges.

[How to tell what is going on, another of the 10 cartoons uploaded yesterday to the cartoons section of the main CartoonChurch.com site.]
If anyone has any requests for subjects for my Church Times ‘Guide to the church’ series I’d be very happy to hear them. There are probably some aspects of church life (local, national, or international) that I have omitted to explore. Please post in the comments below or feel free to contact me directly. I can’t make any promises about which ideas I will use of course, but all responses are very much appreciated.
This is my way of asking for ideas without making it look as if I am too desperate.

I’ve posted ten cartoons on CartoonChurch.com. They have all appeared somewhere else in the past, but they are newly available for subscribers and some of them have not been posted on the internet before. You can find links to all ten here, or I’ve posted individual links below:
The cartoons:
Information about republishing these cartoons in church publications or elsewhere is in the usual place.
I’m aware that many of you are waiting to renew your church licence. Please do keep using the cartoons if that is the case – it is my fault not yours. Sorting out my renewals system is a major task which has needed doing for a very long time. I have to admit to struggling to keep up with doing both the creative side of things and the administration side of things, and this is the thing that has been left out. I am getting someone to help me set up an efficient way of doing the renewals and if all is well you should hear from me within the next month.

The Ship of Fools folks had a stand at the Christian Resources Exhibition this year for the first time. A few photos are below – click ‘read the rest of this entry’ if you can’t see them.
You can find more of my blogging from today’s CRE on the Church Times blog. I’ll be there again tomorrow to do a bit more blogging and for the former SPCK employee gathering.

Above: Simon (left), Tony K (right) and someone else whose name I’m afraid I’ve forgotten.

One of my clients over the last month or two has been After Sunday, an organisation that helps people to explore their vocations.
A couple of my cartoons are now on their website – After Sunday have the exclusive first web rights to these drawings so they don’t currently appear anywhere else. You’ll find my work on these two pages:

I’ve been drawing a few cartoons for the Church Times blog. Today’s is ‘The Church is empty’ for my post Is the church in decline?. At the weekend I did one called ‘Episcopal oversight’ for a post entitled An unwarranted invasion?
The best way to get all of my Church Times blog cartoons is to subscribe to the feed. If that makes no sense please ask and I’ll answer questions about how it works.

If you can stand to read my self-centred ramblings there is an interview with me on the Wesley Owen website. You can find it by clicking links on this page (Click cartoon, then link that says ‘Click here for Dave Walker interview’) or you can go to it directly here but without the rest of the page (I’d link directly but there are frames). A cartoon of mine is appearing there on a monthly basis.

The Anglican Journal is the independent national Newspaper of the Anglican Church of Canada.
From the latest issue: Cartoonist’s role at meeting of bishops a bit sketchy.

I notice that the webpage for one of the projects I have been working on is now up: What am I Doing Here? – A Beginner’s Guide to Church by Hilary Brand. It is published by Church House Publishing.
I’d tell you more, but I’ve a train to catch.
