About me, etc

meAbout me

Welcome to my website. Brief introduction: I’m a freelance cartoonist who lives in Essex, UK. I draw for a number of regular clients, including the Church Times, Youthwork magazine and Quadrant (Christian Research / the Bible Society). I also do occasional freelance work for other clients – most recently this has included the Guardian’s ‘Comment is Free’. A good selection of my work is to be found in the main part of this website, CartoonChurch.com – more about that below. My weekly ‘Dave Walker Guide to the Church’ cartoons in the Church Times have also been published in book form – click the links over to the left there for details. I do a yearly calendar too.

I enjoy writing – on the Cartoon Blog, where I post all the new cartoons I have done on any of my sites along with any other matters that interest me, and on the Church Times blog, my more or less daily column on the Church Times website.

My most interesting cartooning assignment: In the summer of 2008 I was the ‘cartoonist in residence‘ role at the Lambeth Conference (please forgive me for going on about it).

I also ‘run’ (in a limited sense) a number of other websites. In particular the The dullest blog in the world which has been featured in the New York Times and the Economist, among others. We Blog Cartoons contains free cartoons that bloggers can freely reuse in the blogs by means of copying and pasting of code.
