Absolutely loving your posts Dave - I feel as if I am on the journey with you. Also, the related blogs from your fellow travellers are very good.
It must be a lot to take in - my daughter went to Africa with the church a few years ago and suffered a similar culture shock. She said when she came back it really made her appreciate what she has here....Maybe we should all go.

I'm sure you're experiencing a big case of culture shock, Dave. To be unfamiliar with a piece of paper... £1.20 a term for school fees... Wow. Food for thought. Helps put things into perspective. Looking forward to your next update.

Sorghum! That's it. It isn't something that I have seen before, but yes, the word sorghum is more familiar. Thank you!

Kathryn beat me to it. Though I rather like the sound of soy gum. (I pretty much only know about sorghum because of a famous Chinese film called Red Sorghum btw. Not because of my agronomy knowledge.)

Likewise am loving the posts.
