Before the service

Another cartoon from the last-but-one book, The exciting world of churchgoing (link to info on books). You can find the high resolution version for licence holders here.

Every time I upload a new cartoon I add some tags to the page to help searchers find what they are looking for. Today’s tags are ‘chattering’ and ‘nattering’.

    We have some people who get up and go tell the people who
    are whispering to stop whispering. They usually tell them to be
    quiet rather loudly!

    I rather liked the French priest we encountered in the church at Mont St Michel, who silenced chattering tourists/pilgrims with an almighty SSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I never knew it was possible to ssshhhh so loudly.
