Went to a cafe today - it did actually work! Not conversations, but perhaps change of atmosphere. This may be the last day this week I have time to do this though...

Dave, I dare you to go to a different cafe/coffee house every day for a week. The best source of those random triggers that feed creativity is other people, their conversations, the funny things they do.

And if nothing happens, you can tell us how good or bad the coffee is.

Your daily blog posts are becoming a part of my morning routine wherein my brain wakes up.

I would like posts about how you come up with a certain cartoon. And I would love to see a "how to" post or two -- even if you have to fake it.

Maybe a post or two about how you first discovered you were an artist, scribbling in your oatmeal or getting in trouble at school for drawing a report instead of writing it.

I like the "behind the scenes" stuff.

Hiya Dave

You could always take a peek at our website and find something to blog or sketch about - I am a true fan of your work - they cheer my day up no end! I sit for ages laughing and laughing in front of the computer screen

But my absolute favourite is still 'This is my pew, this has always been my pew'

What about some sketches of the unbelievers that attend Alpha and Alpha suppers - that would be a goodn' Dave!

When I first came to church (adn that was when I was definitely NOT in my teens or even plain mature years, more like when nearing retirement age; yes I answered late to the call of the Lord) I had NO idea how to cross myself, I had to look carefully at others doing this.. and so learn it. It may seem silly to you, but well, such it was. I serve as Lay Reader now; I had to be taught how to do chalice service without slopping all over people... How bishops adn priests get taught, I have no idea... maybe you could do some cartoon on that sort of learning process? It is exactly because I have no idea, that I look forward to your visualization of it... And there are more things one had to learn when you coem to the Church of England: how to find your way through the hymnbooks, when to stand wehn to stand during the service; the worse for me was how to sing a psalm..what with the marks in the text, what do they mean? how many syllables go into one note, one line? The worse is that the other memebers of the congregation barely realise that one has to learn ll this; for them it seems to be so self evident, born bred adn raised in the briar as it were. I hope you may find soem inpsirtion in this learning process?
All the best adn keep up th eblog, creative or not; your sover observations are gpood enough to me!

Hard not to say this without it sounding wrong, Dave, but I think you'd be surprised by just how little will satisfy your blog readers. Less is more.

For instance, I was just wondering about your pens. And your paper. Do you have favourite working tools? Why? How do they perform? What do you like about them? It might be the way the lids fit. Yes, a post about the way your pen lids fit would keep many of us reading. If you've covered this already and I've missed it, sorry. Perhaps you've upgraded your toolkit since then? Are the lids different now?

I guess what I'm saying is: make it easy on yourself. And don't fret too much.

Oh, I just spotted this film and thought you might like it and maybe draw some inspiration too.

That list seems to include things you already do. Inspiration can be hard but on those days when it is going well I suggest you accumulate material for those when its not

How about some cartoons of your adventures when commuting?

Also, have you ever considered doing some comic strips?
