Cartoon: Stoles

Today’s cartoon is entitled ‘Stoles’ – see the page high resolution version for republishing here. It is another from the last but one book, ‘The Exciting World of Churchgoing’. I’d make a subtle comment about how good books are are presents, but I’ve done that too many times and it’ll become tedious.

    Stoles are fairly unusual in Methodist churches. But I do go to other churches sometimes, and have at vairous stages been CofE. I have never seem one with a train on. However every Saturday morning I go to a meeting which is very close to an Orthodox Jewish Synagogue. Some of the small boys have Kippurs (skill caps) with Thomas Tank Engine on them, or the crest of their favourite football club. not sure why.

    Would it be the ultimate in irony if your Christmas stole had a picture of some Stollen, and then somebody nicked it? Just wondering, like …
