Embarking on a small tour of certain places

image

I have a birthday approaching. I’d say it is a round number, but it is more a mixture of one angular number and one round one.

To celebrate this fact we (my wife and I) are embarking on a small tour of certain places. It will take approximately one week.

In some of the places we will be seeing some people and doing some things. The organisation of the venture has been haphazard, so please don’t be too offended if it turns out that we passed your door and didn’t tell you, or met up with your nemesis and not you, etc.

The tour started yesterday in Essex. Today we are on a train to Eastbourne (which has just divided at Haywards Heath – don’t worry, we made sure we were in the front four carriages).

Further updates to quite possibly follow.

Note to commenters: please be vague if possible.

You were simultaneously in all four front carriages? Amazing!

    happy birthday anyway

We were in carriage 2 of 8. I should possibly mention that my actual birthday is not for a week or two.

Happy Birthday in advance, Dave, in the event that I forget later. May you and your wife celebrate the mixture of one angular and one round number anniversary well.

    Thank you Grandmère Mimi.

Absolutely no problem in being ..err.. vague! Happy birthday whichever one it is!

One angular and one round? That’ll be 70 then: I must say you wear very well! (What’s your secret?) Happy Birthday for whenever…

Enjoy your small tour of certain places. I trust these are significant places – or at least chosen at random in a true spirit of discovery or eccentric curiosity. Have fun.

  8. Margaret says:

Will all the places you visit begin with E?

If you are going to write things like that, you really need to write them very loudly with a giant pen.
