At our church we have abandoned the titles of "Family Service" and "All Age" in favour of "All Stage", the idea being to set out to minister to all Christians from the newest to the most experienced - it seems to be working OK.

What a good idea - to get the children to indicate to the rest of the congregation where we are in the service! Mind you, I think someone needs to learn how to spell Te Deum...

My favourite animal is steak too. I must remember to make the Sunday of any Pet Service one on which I am unavailable to lead worship!

I am at a Cafe Church training this weekend, so wont be at ST Leonards, but I know someone who might come!

It does annoy me the way that all age services turn into some sort of performance or show rather than being based in what usually happens, only slightly more user friendly. The other thing which annoys me about all ages services is the way that they seem to be "young-people" services forgetting that these 12-16 year olds are just a fraction of the whole congregation /rant

As I struggle with a technical Wordpress moment (I know you'll understand that problem) looking at the full 4-panel piece this has brought a smile to my face. Thank you.

It's very accurate - except that you miss the point that often the adults who get more from such services than they do from an 'ordinary' sermon (at least that's the feedback from my humble experience)!

That, and the fact I've never made kids hold up cards to spell something... though I have made them play with dirty water for a confession http://ramtopsrac.wordpress.com/2010/08/31/a-watery-confession/

Like it - especially the fact that some of the children are about as bored as I am (and would have been if I had been subjected to this stuff in my tender years).

Soon I have to assist at a Pet Service. My favourite animal is steak.
