Cartoon: New technology

new technology

One more cartoon has been added to CartoonChurch.com – see New technology for the slightly larger version along with the high resolution image for licence holders.

This cartoon is taken from the last book My Pew – things I have seen from it, still available from good retailers.

Aside of peripheral interest: I used this cartoon and the one I posted yesterday in a talk I did on Monday at a deanery clergy conference held in Ely. I really enjoy doing such things.

    Simply brilliant!

The words on the labler remind me of the need to be clear when talking of fonts to Archdeacons and such like. “You can’t make sense of it as you don’t have the right font installed”…”you can’t install a font with a faculty you know”

The thing that strike’s me is how sadly dated these items now are. In many places
    - the fax has been replaced by email, download, pdf etc
    - the audio casette is at the very least a CD if not an MP3 player or a 8MB pen drive
    - the handheld labelling devise is a micro-dot or invisible pen
    - the OHP is now a digital projector and laptop
How fast the world is changing!

Gutted! I am a Ely clergy (peripherally) if I had known you were there I woulda went!

  5. Dave says:

Sandie – that is kind of you, although it was a deanery from London who hold their annual retreat at the retreat house in Ely. A great venue I must say.

I’ve been on holiday and have had a great few minutes catching up on your cartoons.
But have to say that you’ve missed out the slide projector in this one. We have one here at Diocesan Office that gets borrowed once a year by the same person!
