I’m thinking an office opening party might be a great idea. I don’t know if there are rules about parties. I can reassure them that there will be clergy present so it will all be sober and above board.

Talk of the third bedroom. I know, it sounds boastful to mention that we have such a thing. It is quite small though – about 54 square feet if I remember correctly. There would be no danger of guests being able to fit in.

I’m liking the pictures posted by Rachel Andrew (@rachelandrew) of her new office. Sofas. Certainly worth thinking about.

You worked in the third bedroom? That must have been fun when there were guests around. ‘Oh, don’t worry about me, I’m just drawing pictures, keep on sleeping/reading/performingprivatebedroomactivitieswithyourspouseing.’ Maybe now you have an office of your own they can come and sit in while you’re working and do relaxing things like drink cups of tea and have a good old natter about things, just to turn the tables as it were.

I have 3 rooms, computer with art tablet, and the dining room table… And I still go to starbucks for inspiration. So two desks is quite reasonable. I would happily rent some cartoonist/illustration space from you, though Preston, Lancashire to Basildon is a little bit far for a commute. Personally I like lots of people around me when I draw. Especially people looking over my shoulder. The other day I was happily scribbling an old steam engine in Manchester science museum. A mum saw me and told her little sweetums, ‘look darling, there’s an inventor drawing engines to get ideas for his new invention.’ it must have been the Lawrence lewellyn bowan shirt and jacket I was wearing!

YOu could always let the spare space out to youth workers for those many boxes of random objects they have around labelled “prayer resources”.

I have two desks in my office–or rather, two tables. One houses the computer, telephone, and all that gear. The other is piled high with beads and projects. My infrequent guests sit in a comfortable rocking chair.

Were just in the process of down-sizing so it is really good to know that in the bigger scheme of things balance will be maintained.

Will there be a grand opening with baloons and cake and canapies with speeches from local dignitaries, worthies and clergy?
