Cartoon Blog Exclusive: Lambeth bishops’ dining flow diagram

As far as I know no other blog is carrying the Friday 18 July flow diagram for the Rutherford dining hall for Lambeth Conference bishops. As you can see the bishops are expected to come down the stairs with their hands clasped in front of them in a bishoply fashion before making their food selections, eating, and exiting to the bar or toilets.

In other news: Scott Gunn, a low-to-mid level operative in the Lambeth photography team continues to post things that the mainstream media won’t: Disturbing development in the Dave Walker story

Today I have been sad because, like Cinderella, I have not been allowed to go to the Cathedral with the bishops, but happy because my wife arrives this evening for a day or two.

    This is one of the most amazing food serving flowcharts I have ever seen. The detail is impressive and the food an array of international delights. Wonder which was the most popular dish…please can you come back to us with follow-up information?

    I hope you enjoy seeing your wife. However, I suggest that you consider turning off that eerie light in your tent before you do, lest the bishops enjoy shadow theatre.

    Truly a Lambeth exclusive, Dave.

    What if a bishop wants seconds? Should s/he go outside and re-enter, hands folded, and go again? Or should the hungry bishop dare to go against the flow? And why so much planning for 600 some bishops? I’ve never seen a university dining hall with such a rigorous system, and we all know how unruly hungry students can be. Is it possible that hungry bishops are even more loutish?

    This is a delight. My favourite part of the flowchart is the bit where it looks like a bishop and a fish are kissing. I’m fascinated that the only exits are to either the toilets or the bar…

    Lovely. It looks very like a plan for Holy Week processions drawn up by an M.C. of my acquaintance. Too bad the Holy Pretzel is missing: it would be most appropriate here.
