Peter Kirk says:
But who is “SPCK” across the hall from you? I hope SSG doesn’t dare to turn up under that name.

I don’t think SSG have the time or energy to turn up anywhere!
-
Thomas says:
The SPCK listed is SPCK Publishing who will be selling their own books. It says the Marketplace is now full, so there is no room at the inn for SSG.

This looks like a great chance to see the legendary Dave Walker in action – and to mix with some other rather less important people too.
I shall be there some days with WATCH, so I reckon that with a telescope and a mirror I might just get a glimpse of the great man.
If there are WATCH members or supporters (particularly people with telescopes and mirrors) who are interested in coming and helping with the stall then get in touch via details on http://www.watchwomen.com or email info@watchwomen.com.

So us plebs will be allowed into the Marketplace for the first time ever! And here was I thinking that this was our church!

Hi Dave
Just found your site and think its fantastic. We are going to be your neighbours at Lambeth as we are in the corner next to you.
Best Wishes

I am most keen to know what “Holy Socks, Faith on Your Feet” is. Could this be the the thing that reunites Anglicanism? Surely we all support socks. Except of course for decalced monastics. Clearly this issue needs the incisive investigation that only a seasoned cartoonist brings.

Mark Fleeson says:
Holy Socks are usually at the Christian Resources Exhibition, they sell socks with Christain imagery/logs upon them, more details at: http://www.holysocks.co.uk

Canon G – one of the lay readers at the Church I go to wear them. They are socks with Christian slogans and jokes on them. They also do ties and other fashion (?) accessories.

andy jones says:
What other items of sock-related paraphenalia will they be stocking while they’re in the Marketplace? I do hope they’re not in there stocking feet!
Sorry, it’s late and I’ve forgotten how to spell.

Phelim McIntyre says:
Their website holds – Holy Socks, Glory Golf Balls and Biblical Brollies. Socks are available in adult and child size, as slipper socks, kilt socks, and even in Welsh!!
Their site is http://www.holysocks.co.uk

Phelim McIntyre says:
Texts on golf balls include “a time to seek and a time to lose” (Ecclesiates 3) and on the umbrella such texts as “He sends rain on the just and unjust” (Matthew 5). No ties (sorry for building up hopes) – will find the name of the supplier and let people know (if I can get past the constant moderation my posts seem to be under at the moment).

Tiffer says:
Is it just me or is there a slight bias to pressure groups from the more liberal/liberal-catholic end of the church spectrum, with a couple of exceptions perhaps (I don’t recognise all the names). Would this be because of conservatives and evo’s being cautious of Lambeth in general? I would be surprised if that were the case with all (CPAS, Fulcrum etc)

I’d love to know how to get my hands on one of those Matthew 5 umbrellas over here in the States.

Miss Webweaver
Holy Socks will post to the States. Follow the link http://www.holysocks.co.uk Click on the “Ordering Biblical Brollies” and it takes you to a page asking you to “Please select your country / region to calculate tax and shipping”. So you can get either a golf or telescpic sent to you.
