The evolution of the evolution of the worshipper

evolution

Ben Edson has been causing the evolution of a worshipper cartoon to evolve. The interpretation will follow in a few days.

Perhaps other people would like to undertake the creation of their own evolution. I have uploaded the high resolution original of the 2008 version of the cartoon (with Emergent Guy) for you to download and photoshop. Or of course you can use the original original. Let me know if you do something with it.

The 2008 version of the cartoon originally appeared in Christianity Today – see my previous post.

Please note that you still need to get in touch as per usual if you want to publish it in a magazine or somewhere. Thank you!

    Aaron – great stuff.

Just goes to show, that if God had wanted one person to do everything in the Church he would re-create them with two sets of arms :-)
    {Then they could do the church cleaning, give someone else a hymn book, write the sermon and wiggle soft toy infront of a baby in the creche . . . }
[Be careful he doesn’t develop into a Worship Leader – he will start playing a guitar and doing ‘The Actions’ at the same time)!

  4. TimT says:

And in the single phrase ‘… the creation of their own evolution’, two worlds collide! I’m also curious to see the evolution of my own creation:

“And the earth was without form and void… and God said “let there be by a gradual process of natural selection involving the combing of organic elements, that will lead over the course of time to the evolution of plants and animals… LIFE!”

    Maybe not…

  5. Richard Greatrex says:

6 arms – does this mean we evolve into a Hindu god? Or are ants the truest form of worshipper?

  6. Jael says:

    Richard Maybe Proverbs30 verses 24-25 &Proverbs 6 verse 6 answers your question!
(And wow, just look at it in the King James version! (Which is not something I’ve said before.)
Hint: It doesn’t use “it” in reference to the one who is wise. . . :-)

[...] UPDATED UPDATE: My arrow both ways suggestion has been implemented over here. I don’t fancy I had anything to do with Bed Edson’s posting, but this does show the great cosmic link. Of something. This has been encouraged by Dave Walker. I’ll keep you posted. [...]

can girls be part of the diagram? Perhaps starting with contrite headscarf wearing ending in Bishop (well, it’s worth a try – but not till 2011!)…in between = looking to men for affirmation, watching worship from the kitchen hatch whilst making coffee, in another room with the sunday school, etc etc…
