Maybe if you had some seminary training you would have a better base of knowledge to understand what the text is talking about. Instead, you form some really interesting conclusions that have no merit whatsoever in relation to the text that you should be exageting.

On a less hilarious note - this is from their short statement of faith (but something they felt had to be included next to Jesus being God etc):

"We believe that homosexuality is a sin and an abomination which God punishes with the death penalty." (http://www.faithfulwordbaptist.org/page6.html)

NOT even homosexual practice. The pastor's wife's blog is also obsessed with folk receiving the death penalty....scary folk!

Verily, a mighty man is he that pisseth a Jeroboam. Such an one riseth up early to drink and continueth towards night, and at the advice of the Apostle, containeth through the day, until at its end he looseth his overflowing stream, whereat the people do shout, "Yea, the waters have gone right over us!"

Does this mean that the use of toilets by men is unbiblical: we must only use walls?

I saw this a few days ago and had a good laugh.

Then I looked a bit deeper.

The preacher guy posted the clip himself. Along with another clip explaining why Billy Graham is going to hell. Worrying.

Then I browsed their church website and the preacher's wife's blog. It goes so far beyond laughable that it actually becomes not funny anymore. These people live their lives so fixated on the words of the original KJV that they seem to actually miss the loving God the book speaks of. It makes me really sad.

Verily I say unto thee, far better to pisseth whilst thou sitteth. If thou shouldst pisseth agaist a wall thou shouldst take heed of the message to the males of Jeroboam. God's comming to get you.

You know, this preacherman feller in the video might be a little bit out there, but he's not that different from the average American preacherman. Honestly.

For starters, go to the (Episcopal) Diocese of Central Florida website and check out the sermons and "teachings" of the megachurch non-denominational preacher from Wyoming who is leading a revival and diocesan "churchplanting" conference there.Click on "A Kingdom Mandate" at http://www.cfdiocese.org/ and follow the link to the audio recordings of the recent revival. Tuesday evening is fairly typical: "The Bible says." "Spiritual warfare." "Signs of the End Times." Above all: "Power, power, power." Power is a constant theme. God has power and He will give US power and then we will have POWER!

OK, I am feeling cranky today, but I really, really resent the fact that this kind of stuff is being shoved down our throats as the only acceptable form of religion in America. I liked the Episcopal Church as it was, before you Brits and your Primates and Windsor Report and the rest of your blunt Instruments of Communion battered it beyond recognition and turned it into one more version of the standard-issue fundie-Pentecostal hooie.
