Dave - thought you might like to know that, at the Glos Bishops Quiet Day in the Cathedral today, Vivienne Faull quoted you extensively as she led into her first address...We moved from "what Bishops really do at their meetings" to the content of clergy pockets and a good time was had by all :-)

As I've posted in an update above, you can now find the high res version here.

To quote my post: 'The page has my normal blurb about buying a licence, but in the spirit of ‘Love Life Live Lent’ you are welcome to use it for free if you are using it in connection with this campaign or for some other Lent-related purpose this year. Hopefully that’s fair.'

Thanks for illuminating an important point in this parable. I was surprised to see that you have the priest and the Levite going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. For many preachers explain and partly excuse their behaviour in terms of their need to be ritually pure on arrival in Jerusalem. But in fact the text clearly says that they were going down, katebainen 10:31. So there was no such excuse for them. We don't actually know which way the Samaritan was going, or which direction the inn was, but it would have been easier for the donkey to take the man, as well as the Samaritan's goods, downhill. Your inn looks more like a Swiss chalet than a Middle Eastern caravansaray, but that's OK.

Ed: I will put up the high res version later.

Eddie: Robbers do all run off in different directions. I've seen it on the police chase programmes they have on Sky 3. They all run off in different directions and try to hide in wheely bins or get caught running across a field by the night time cameras in the helicopter.

I'm intrigued at the way in which the robbers all ran in different directions. I'd some how assumed that they would probably head off to the nearest bar to buy some beer with their ill gotten gains (Vision of the Samaritan and robbed man blundering in on their party).

I can think of a few technical commentaries on the Gospels which would do well to have diagrams like yours in them. At least then you could look at the pictures while pretending to study the Greek text.
