Ah, yes - I had quite forgotten about that. Oh, well I might as well prepare myself for the annual ritual. I have tried printing sticky labels for the addresses but I found it takes longer to get them lined up properly than it does to handwrite them!

Looks about like what happened when I sent wedding invitations. The Thank You cards are going worse yet.

It is the updating of addresses I find tricky. I have already sent some cards to out of date addresses by mistake. Now should I send them another one or hope their cards reach them eventually?

I just send cards as I receive them from others -- if there is no return address - they are out of luck.

I knew what this cartoon was before I saw it - Dave you are uncannily in touch with the minor points of human misery. I have databases, address books, bits of paper and last years chain mail letters but can I find the ones I love? Noo

fortunately I have a wife who knows where important things are...

Do you send birthday cards, anniversary cards, Valentine's cards three weeks before the date? No? Well, why does everyone try and send Christmas cards so early? Surely the trick is to get the cards delivered as close to the day as possible? So use the last posting dates - that's what they're there for.
Which gives another week+ to find those addresses.

Sorry if I'm sounding humbugish, but I've just survived another Christingle service, my hands are sticky with orange juice and molten children.

Every year I struggle to find the Christian depth to this sickly ritual and every year I fail.

But the children enjoy it. Is that all that matters?

I thought I was the only one who experienced this. Every year I get out my old Diaries and notebooks to search for addresses, then its a visit to Mums to raid her address book and then to my sisters for hers.
Anyone NOT in any of these books has No CHance! :-)

Ah, you have just illustrated, with uncanny accuracy, the reason my cards are not yet in the post.
