Basildon Church

I have recently been working on the website for the Parish of Langdon Hills, Basildon, Essex. I’m just putting a post on here to let the search engines know about it. Regular readers: feel free to talk amongst yourselves or take an opportunity to visit the lavatories or the book stall.

If you’re looking for a Basildon Church or more specifically a Langdon Hills Church then this is the place to find information. There are specific pages on St Mary’s Church and St John’s Church. Brilliant!

There. That wasn’t so bad was it.

Dave. I’m sure they’re nice folks. I can’t get over the squiggly thing with it’s flippers extended that’s trying desperately to get out of the little hole in the wall before the band starts up with one more chorus of ‘Oh God you are so totally awesome’

And it really is the wrong shape not to invoke in my memory a certain scene from Woody Allen’s ‘Everything you wanted to know about sex…’

    helpfully

  2. Tired&Emotional says:

Why does the church have a very large stick insect or lizard trying to crawl out of the round window?

I knew you Anglicans were reptile worshippers really……

[...] Sep. 2007 Another nice Wordpress church site Posted by Richard Huss under Christianity , Wordpress   Dave Walker has been working on anice Wordpress-based site at The Parish of Langdon Hills. I do like the Weddings and Baptisms pages – need something along those lines on our site. And while I’m still quite fond of the See You at the Beach theme we’re using, the drop-down menus on the Langdon Hills site do a better job of revealing the site content. I wonder how hard it will be to retro-fit some drop-down menus? [...]

    Nice :)

I’m trying to decide whether those chairs are

    a) Comfy

    b) Conditionally comfy (great for services up to an hour)

    c) Deceptively comfy (you need to find the right posture)

    d) Not very comfy (avoid sitting down in over-smooth trousers/skirt or you’ll be on the floor; select thick fabrics to avoid posterial contusion)

    Any comments?

PS – Just found the Churches of Langdon Hills map. Brilliant. The CofE (or some appropriate ecumenical body) should commission you for the complete set…

    Like it.

One comment: have you made sure that all the information in the cartoons is also out of the cartoons. I was looking at the phone nos of the other churches.

Ok, two commemts. They have a good free “podcast this post” service at http://www.talkr.com. American accent, but useful.

Jeremy – it’s a while since I sat on them, but they’re … OK for an hour (I’m rather short, so my feet don’t touch the ground which doesn’t help).
