Blog post about nothing in particular which I deleted

My aim has been to blog daily, and up to now I haven’t been too bad at it. But today, ie yesterday, I failed. In fact I have failed on about two or three occasions over the last week, but I have subtly altered the date and time to make it look as if the post has been done before midnight, when it hasn’t.

I just thought I’d come clean about this.

[Paragraph about my various problems deleted]

I notice that Ruth Gledhill has deleted her post about the SPCK memos, as several commenters pointed out. I don’t know why she has done this. I’ve sent her an e-mail asking so perhaps I’ll hear back tomorrow. I have the text of the two memos here, so maybe I’ll post them myself.

I’ll try to post some more cartoons this week.

I went to church twice today.

Sorry, this post was rubbish. I’ve crossed it out.

Twice!? Bah. Must be some kind of English infection. Here I am in London, partly on holiday and partly working. So on Ascension Day, I was in church twice. Then today — perhaps because my competitive drive took over, combined with my ESP knowledge of your church attendance — I attended church thrice. And one of those times I preached.

I never do that in America. What is it with England? Is church better here, or is there just less stuff to do otherwise?

I’m taking that this is an ironic post about blogging generally and therefore I think it is one of the best bits of humour I’ve seen in a long time.

    Well done Dave.

At least you crossed it out rather than deleting it, thus removing the possibility that you’ve got something to hide or are worried about litigation… :p

  4. Dave says:

Just for info – Ruth was editing the SPCK posts and then had to attend to something else urgently. She has kindly e-mailed to say they are reposted.

It’s funny when something is crossed out it makes it seem more interesting…either back to school days…”you’ve messed up Walker!”… which sadly gives us all a boost as it is not us being humiliated …or censored…this is what they didn’t want you to know… either way it makes us all read it…

..my wife describes your posts as off-the-wall…being off the wall means that sometimes it is hard to judge whether it is off-the-wall good or off-the-wall bad…invariably off-the-wall good Dave :-)
