We have cats

These are our new cats.

cats

They have been here two days and have brought much joy thus far, but cause me stress during the day as it is my responsibility to ensure that no-one is escaping or doing things that they should not do.

Above: Cat sitting in pepper plant pot (yes, these peppers, which still survive and produce continual peppers).

The cats are 6 months old and came from the Cats Protection people. They are called Matins (Mattie) and Evensong (Evie).

  2. Chris Clark says:

I heard a vesper that you might compline if you got a third one…

  3. ash says:

aawww they’re so cute!! which one’s which?

  4. Ann says:

Wow – they look like siblings of our cats – Bearcat (grey) and Ms Kitty (tuxedo). Except Ms Kitty only has 3 legs.

  5. Mary says:

Chris – he ought to get another cat, make up the trinity! :D

  6. Emma says:

I am in complete cat envy. I. Want. Cats. Yours look totally adorable; I hope they settle in well and bring you lots of fun, and not too many dead rodents.

  7. Jane Redmont says:

Beautiful! And great names. Each of them looks like a previous cat of mine, except that your tuxedo cat has a different shape. Enjoy them. I hope they don’t eat all your plants. Congratulations (to them too!)
P.S. Are they cat cartoonists? You never know, they might start drawing while you’re asleep.

  8. St says:

Just for the sake of balanced comment. They are not cute. They are horrid. Cats bring me out in a nasty rash and cause me breathing difficulties after about two hours. Other people’s cats eat the birds in my bird box, try to kill my friend’s guinea pigs and relieve themselves on my lawn. I hate them. If I see them I will kill them and I’m never coming to your house ever.

Hope you are well and having decent weather.

P.S. ‘Kill’ might have been a little harsh. I’ll just shoot them a couple of times and leave their survival to God.

I have a ‘tabby and white’ cat called Paddington(Paddi)

She is a ‘she’ even tho’ Paddington bear was not. My sister’s cat initially and they thought she was a ‘he’. She’s 8 years old now, but still daft.

    cats are great.

  10. deeleea says:

    Congratulations!

Cats rock. I’m v fond of mine and have to be constantly vigilant for he is an escapist.

I hope yours are not. It’s nerve wracking.

  11. nessa says:

CATS!!! love em love em love em!

i have created an entire business around them.

just remember that those who don’t like cats, must have been mice in a previous life.

  12. Catherine says:

The cats are lovely! Are they siblings? How long before you can let them out? I have four cats myself, including a rescue boy from Cats Protection called Harvey, who is unfortunately something of a thug.

  13. robert marshall says:

But do they sing at night?

  14. jody says:

having looked at the first photo again, I’m led to believe that this is a cat ‘spot the ball’ competition.

i’m sensing another ‘win a cartoon’ competition coming on, a la the Frisbee competition last year. Except you can’t draw a cartoon on your cat and post it to me, that’s illegal.

of course it wouldn’t be the cat really….just whatever the cats were looking at.

what were the cats looking at?

    Anyone got any cheese?
