The perils of dancing

We have been away for the weekend in Oxford, Cheltenham and (to a lesser extent) Bourton on the Water.

As you will know l was in less than perfect health last week and took every opportunity to inform you of the fact. Well, by the weekend I was feeling more or less 100 percent recovered and therefore had a splendid time at the social event were were attending. There was much food, drink, conversation and merriment. I think the problems began when it came to the dancing. I did some dancing and then started to feel the same fever and general not-being-well that I felt last week. Unfortunately I have not been feeling great today either as I thought I was better again and turned out not to be. Anyway, I’m taking it easy which might mean there is a lack of new stuff again. I will not be doing any more dancing for a while.

Apologies that weblogcartoons.com is currently down (Sunday 6.45pm). This will affect most cartoons on this blog and also some of the newer CartoonChurch material. If you need a cartoon urgently let me know and I will e-mail it to you.

Why not take a day or two off until you are properly rested and well.

I officially declare this cartoonist allowed to take a day or two’s sick leave. :)

this will make you feel better. I lent ‘guide to the church’ to my mum, as she has recently moved over ‘to the other side’ (free church to anglican) and thought she might appreciate it, seeing as i find it fab.
    she didn’t.
but if you knew my mum (bless ‘er) you’d see this as a compliment.
    get well soon.

Ah ! Bourton-on-the-Water. We lived in, near, or by there for some time at the behest of HM the Queen. In fact we survived there during the winter of 62/63 which you will all remember so very well. Did you meet Gustav Holst ? Does he still play the organ ?

    Dear Cartoonblog watchers

Our revered leader is still under the weather. I hereby authorise 3 days sick leave…

For three days none of us will notice that there are no new Cartoons, or even think about the fact that there are no new cartoons. In fact we will not be expecting any until Thursday at least.

We will turn to alternative therapy such as ….crumbs I can’t think of any…get well soon Dave properly this time

  5. Philip of Samaria says:

..that’ll be you mimicking King David and only wearing your undies whilst pogo-ing for all your worth.. It’ll be a March chill you have…

  6. Theodore G. Fletcher says:

David, it is Lent. I dare say do thee think it is right this “much food, drink, conversation and merriment” ??? And now you feel ill . . .

  7. Theodore G. Fletcher says:

    Get well soon

Reading other’s opinions on your affliction, it’s not clear whether the consensus is that it’s divine punishment, insufficient rest (ahem!), or March chill. I haven’t had a cold in years so I’ll share my prescription for good health: eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, get a moderate amount of fresh air in all kinds of weather, a bit of exercise, take a few vitamins regularly, do some really deep breathing every day. That should strengthen your respiratory system and your immune system in general. I am always available for consultations on health and whatever! My best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Oh dear – I hope our dancing didn’t break you!

Thank you for providing a cartoon for the ‘social event’ though – it was fab.
