Insomnia cartoon

insomnia

Sometimes the best way to achieve your goal is to stop trying.

Please do not take that as me saying you can have a break from your paperwork, essay, chores or other laboursome toil.

Yer Nuerolinguistic psycholgist would say you should now ‘break state’ – i.e. get up, make a cup of tea, complete tax form, suddenly feel very sleepy..

Did it myself this morning – woke up in a state, mainly about teenagers not under my or their own control. Played some weepy James Taylor on the way to work – bingo, catharsis and new feeling of ridiculous optimism resulting in good outcomes..

Just like praying really – but isnt it amazing how the act of settling in for prayer leads the mind into total turmoil of other things..

  2. dreamer says:

I like it, considering I am often wide awake at odd hours of the day. Or night I should say!

I will point people in your direction when I decide I have had enough of the work they give me to do …

Ok, so maybe not … ;)

  3. Chris Clark says:

You could try counting liberals…the wooly kind!

one could think that you drew that cartoon just for me. ;)

when i start talking to people i find out that so so many people have proper insomnia these days. i wonder if it’s the chosen psychological problem of thirty somethings everywhere. teen years is angst, 20 somethings is depression and thirty somethings is stress and insomnia???

hehe thanks dave. it made me grin. :)

Huh. My insomnia is out of sync – if I’d had it this week, I could’ve posted an amusing cartoon about it, rather than just grumbling!
