Blog upgrade

Update (Sunday 23:10): Just to say that the comments problem should now be fixed. I have also upgraded Wordpress (the system that most of the CartoonChurch / Cartoon Blog runs on). This should not make the site look any different but in theory it will make it more secure and will mean that I can add new features that hitherto I could not.

Everything should now work and so hopefully I will be able to start posting properly again from tomorrow. If you spot any non-working bits of the site please let me know.

Update (Monday 09:20): I think there are still problems with the feeds for the site. I’m still not getting anything through on Bloglines or via the Feedburner feed. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

All looking good from here – looks exactly the same as before!

  2. Peter Owen says:

Bloglines has fed me this post, the one entitled “God’s Plan”, and updated versions of other posst from the last few days.

  3. Dave says:

Thanks Peter. I’ve just had the Bloglines updates too, though I’m still not 100% sure the Feedburner feed is working at present.

I’m not sure what “kind” of feed I’m using – I use NetNewsWireLite as my reader, and it shows this url as the feed I’m using:
    http://www.cartoonchurch.com/blog/feed/

This seems to be working fine for me.

  5. Steve says:

I’m using Thunderbird as my RSS reader and it’s started saying that the Feedburner feed that I was using quite happily “is not a valid feed”. And now when I click on the orange chicklet I just get a blank page (though the title bar says Feedburner). Help!

  6. Dave says:

Steve – thanks for letting me know. I don’t know what to do about it though – might need to contact Feedburner I suppose.

  7. Dave says:

OK, I’ve discovered that the latest Wordpress has a Feedburner bug in it. I’ve downladed a patch that should make it work properly, so we’ll have to wait and see whether that works.

  8. Steve says:

Fantastic! You’re appearing on Thunderbird again! God is good and (crossposting with deliberate abandon) obviously had this planned for my life :-)

  9. David says:

Dave, fancy upgrading your blog again? ;-)

Wordpress 2.1 has just been released.

  10. Dave says:

David – I know. It is a worry.
