Especially like the "thistles"!
Paul very kindly sent me some pictures of my book on the counter at Presence: 19-21 The Parade, High Street, Watford. Apparently it has been selling very well for them – over 50 copies – which is great. I am quite pleased that the book is one one side of the till and prayer requests are on the other. I’m not sure whether the thinking is that people who like the book need prayer or that people who need prayer need the book, but either way I am happy.
Other book news:
- At the time of writing the book is the No 4 bestseller in Waterstones ‘cartoons and comics‘ list and at number 2 in the ‘religion and beliefs‘ list apparently outselling the Pope and Richard Dawkins’ audiobook. Whilst I am very very pleased by this I do find it ever so slightly hard to believe I have to say, particularly as it is still quite difficult to find the book in their stores (see the availability list). Having said that the book was recently spotted in the Thurrock Lakeside Waterstones, which was encouraging. I am told it continues to sell well in the Piccadilly branch, where you will find it in the ‘employee recommendation’ section.
- Has anyone spotted the book in a Wesley Owen yet? It has been listed on the website for a few weeks now, but as ‘out of stock’.
- I’m told that a review will appear in Christian Marketplace in February. This is good as it is the magazine which, I am told, Christian bookshop manager types browse as their bedtime reading.
- A big thank you to everyone who has bought the book so far thus supporting my work and to those who have sent nice messages. I might publish one or two of them here at some point. I’m also interested in other photos of the book on display in different places if anyone has any.
The Presence shop also stocks my cards. If you can spot them in the picture below give yourself a pat on the back and say a quiet ‘hurrah!’
As you will have noticed for one reason or another I have not been making a big thing of promoting the cards on the website in the last few months. If any blog readers would like any then they are available so do get in touch. I can also do special rates for you if you run a shop. Again – get in touch.
