Book sightings

dave walker book - presence

Paul very kindly sent me some pictures of my book on the counter at Presence: 19-21 The Parade, High Street, Watford. Apparently it has been selling very well for them – over 50 copies – which is great. I am quite pleased that the book is one one side of the till and prayer requests are on the other. I’m not sure whether the thinking is that people who like the book need prayer or that people who need prayer need the book, but either way I am happy.

Other book news:

The Presence shop also stocks my cards. If you can spot them in the picture below give yourself a pat on the back and say a quiet ‘hurrah!’

As you will have noticed for one reason or another I have not been making a big thing of promoting the cards on the website in the last few months. If any blog readers would like any then they are available so do get in touch. I can also do special rates for you if you run a shop. Again – get in touch.

  1. bimble says:

I’ve spotted it in the bookstore of Southwark Cathedral :D though I couldn’t see it in Guildford Cathedral :(

  2. MadPriest says:

I’m starting a campaign to have Dave Walker’s books removed from SPCK – I’m sure you’re not allowed to laugh if you are truly orthodox.

  3. someone says:

you seem to have a grip against Weslwy Owen – the book is in the shops – get a grip there are thousands of books that come in and out of the warehouse every day – your book is just one – if you want to check why don’t you travel around every one of there 40 or so shops and check the shelfs your self

  4. Dave says:

    Dear someone,

I don’t normally publish anonymous comments, but I’ll let this one go.

I merely asked whether anyone had seen the book in Wesley Owen. Quite how that counts as a gripe I don’t know.

  5. Mary says:

Dave, I’m not sure if you need to get a grip or a gripe, but it does sound as if one of those evil-minded parishioners has escaped from Ruth Gledhill’s article in the Times yesterday! (Or am I pre-empting your next blog?)

Anyway, I couldn’t see there was anything wrong with your request – I don’t have a Wesley Owen near me though. I CAN report that Ely Cathedral does not have a copy – it must have sold it and not replenished…

  6. Neil says:

Just got into the shop today (SPCK Exeter, that is) hoping to find a stack of Dave Walker books for those last minute Christmas gifts only to be greeted by a delivery note telling me that the book is Reprinting! Goodness, i am going to have to see if The Owen (as I like to call them) have any in stock now…
