I own two reading/bedside lamps, and am about to move to a room that is much smaller and only warrents one. Can you please let me know the location of the lamp skip so that I may dispose of one of them?
The lamp skip required by Young Neil can be found here.
Perhaps Neil can save the lamp until he is Old Neil and his aging eyes require much more light.
I have had a low energy bulb in my bedside light for many years. Since university I think (almost 10 years ago), when I feel I had a lucky escape one night. I woke up in the morning to find my duvet had a hole burned in it where it had been resting on my bedside light for much of the night. It had an ordinary bulb in then, but I think I replaced it with a low energy (i.e. low heat too) bulb to prevent it happening again. Moving the light off the floor may have helped too. Incidentally the bulb hasn’t failed yet, so they certainly do last longer!
