Holiday photograph 5

sign

This sign gave me a mild sense of wellbeing.

I’ve worked out that by blogging one holiday photograph a day I probably have enough material to keep me going until next year’s holiday. Fear not though readers, more cartoons and etceteras coming shortly.

I am just left feeling sorry for whoever ‘Dog’ is…

  2. Andy says:

If “Dog” is just one of mans best friend, would I be allowed to bring some “Dogs” onto the premises?

  3. Lizzie says:

Your sense of what will make a good picture pleases me greatly. I’m thrilled to learn it’s not just me that takes photos of such gems :o )

  4. jody says:

Dog is not allowed on which premise?

On the premise that it might wee on a table leg perhaps?

  5. Youthblog says:

That is fantastic, it’s a cryptic mystery. Who is Dog? or which Dog is not allowed …. and what is the premise, alluded to but not defined, that forbids entry.
I think this should spawn a whole bunch of cartoon signs that are cryptically forbidding but ultimately non-sensical.
Best HOLIDAY photo so far! Genius

    Thanks Dave

  6. James says:

And if you look at the notice from the other side you might think that it was ‘goD’ that was not allowed

  7. birdie says:

I can’t help feeling that a Word Spelling and Grammar check is responsible for this.

  8. John Bennett says:

    A dyslexic atheist?

  9. tortoise says:

The presence of a menu on the other part of the window, and of chopsticks on the table inside, suggests that the ‘premise’ in question is a Chinese Restaurant.

This being so, I find the sign you highlight strangely reassuring (although ‘Dog is not allowed on this menu‘ would be more so).

  10. tortoise says:

(Just close the speech mark after menu in my last comment would you, Dave? There’s a good webmaster.)

  11. Rhys says:

This series is great, with welcome shades of the Caravan Gallery on this one I think. I highly recommend their book, by the way.

  12. Dave says:

Great comments on this one. Thanks everyone.

Rhys – yes, a splendid book and one I have.

    Tortoise – Anything you ask!
