Greenbelt Festival

greenbelt festival

This is a sample from my Guide to Greenbelt booklet from last year – you can see the whole thing online here. I love Greenbelt for lots of reasons, one of the main ones being that I get to see lots of nice people. We have an annual gathering for the Wibsite bloggers (last year’s photos) which is one of the highlights.

So, who is going to the Greenbelt Festival 2006? If you’re going and might like to meet up then leave a comment below and we’ll take things from there – we could swap mobile texting numbers or something. If you are going but would like to avoid meeting up at all costs that’s ok too – write a comment telling us all about it.

We’re going for the first time. Have been talking about it for years as Neil has told us we really should go. We finally book, and Neil isn’t going this year!

Would love to look out for you – we’ll be in a blue mercedes camper, will keep our eyes peeled for yours ;)

  2. Rob says:

Would love to say hello, if I get the chance.

Look out for one of the stressed, sleep starved, panicky types with a two way radio, arm full of paperwork and a panicky look (did I mention that already?).

  3. Dave Warnock says:

    See you there.

  4. Mark Berry says:

yeah, we’ll all be there! Feel free to come and join us on Sunday am (before the Communion) for our Worship slot ( pay[back] free[dom] ) in The Emerging Church Cafe… but you’ll need to get your hair cut and get growing that little bit of beard below your bottom lip ASAP! ;)

  5. maggi says:

    me, me, me!!! coffee?

  6. Jen says:

And me!!!!! I’ll be there! :D

  7. Simo says:

Desperately want to be there but suspect once again I wont make it boo hoo!

  8. ash says:

I will be there too. Although, I am hoping that this post doesn’t mean you’ve all got your Wristbands already, ‘cos I haven’t and now I’m all worried.

Better make some calls to other people what wear green belts.

  9. Emma says:

I’m going! As of today my friend actually booked for us to go! Hooray, I’ve been wanting to go for a few years but haven’t been able to before, so yey!

  10. Sarah says:

I’m going. I’ll be stewarding between 7pm and 3am so if we’re going to meet can we make it later? Please? And I can get you all to stand in a tidy queue if you like.

  11. Clare says:

Me too. I’ll be there. Though for some reason I’ve been persuaded to volunteer this year so you’ll find me manning (womaning?) the contributors’ reception. Do come say hello.

  12. Youthblog says:

I’ll be there again, yay! Look forward to seeing you . I’m hoping to camp in the organic beer tent :-)

  13. Karin says:

    We’ve booked again.

  14. Kathryn says:

And us….I’ll let Maggi organise me, as she is highly organised and I’m utterly hopeless. But will be there, come what may!

  15. augustus meriwether says:

I’ve never been. I wear elasticated trousers and so eschew anything that requires belts. I’m sad that your so called ‘inclusivity’ does not encompass those who don’t/can’t use belts.

It must be so lovely all in your green belted fascistic environment slapping each other on your backs while the elasticated trouser people stand outside.

Nice one you so called Christians.

  16. Michelle says:

    I’ll be there – can’t wait!!
(Well actually, to be more accurate, I am looking forward to GB very much but I can wait – as ‘I can’t wait’ implies that I want it to come round immediately, but that’s not quite true because I’ve got two weeks off before then!) ;)
…I don’t expect that to make much sense to anyone else!

  17. Mic T says:

Another year another daylgo.. be sure to hug your stewards and ply them with coffee! I’ll be all flourescent and hanging around the stage areas looking all worn out and steward like!
