Looking out of the window

cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com

You can post this one on your blog for free – see We Blog Cartoons to get the pastable code.

My life is not really one that consists of a huge amount of looking out of the window at the moment. I am under a bit of pressure as the wedding is approaching and I am getting ready to move house with all that that entails as well as having bits and bobs of work to do. I’m sure you’re tired of hearing me go on about it. This weekend will be spent decorating I think – in order to make an office for me at Maddie_C’s house some fitted wardrobes are being torn out and paint painted onto the walls. We’re going for white with an extra something in the paint that makes it go really really white (with a dash of blue).

I do see keeping up with this blog as one of my priorities though. Partly because without readers I have no audience and without an audience I have no-one to look at my cartoons and without people to look at my cartoons I have no money and without money my socks remain holey and my coffee cup half-filled. But also because writing the blog is something I really enjoy doing.

So, I’m going to attempt to keep the blog going on a daily basis over the summer even though I won’t be here for a lot of it and will not be looking at my computer. ‘How are you going to do that David, you foolish fellow?’ I hear you ask. Well, I’m not sure. Perhaps by reposting old cartoons in a ‘best of’ style, or maybe by getting guest writers in to do some posting. Or posting links to reader’s blogs. Or something else. I don’t know. What do you think?

I may well be asking someone for some help in August to pop into the blog control centre to delete spam, moderate comments and water the plants. (Yes, I know, I should be able to turn comments off. But I find that that doesn’t work at the moment in my WordPress blogs for some reason.) If you are around for most or some of August and would be happy to help out with that and you are someone I know I’d be very pleased to hear from you.

If the cartoon is anything to go by, you have had a hair cut.

I’d love to help fill up space in your blog this summer, but all I can think of to post are informational bits like the annual rainfall in Columbia County, NY, or the approximate number of apples sent to market last year from Columbia County orchards.

    It’s up to you.

SH – my cartoons are nothing to go by.

It wasn’t really autobiographical, I suppose. Perhaps I was drawing from the point of view of a man with short hair and nothing to do, of which I am neither.

Nefertiki – those do sound like the sort of facts I like.

Hey I’m sure I recognise that flowers painting as the one that was recently stolen from the National Gallery…

I must say what a stunning pencil that is. :)

    okay.

Ah, is a useful thing the feature in WordPress that allows you to forward post items and have them appear at a convenient time. :D
