I am grumpy

company structure

I have had 5 visits from British Gas engineers in 2 weeks and the problem is now worse than it was at the beginning. The boiler is turned off, there is no power and so I have had to more or less abandon the house knowing that water is still leaking rom the boiler but that nothing can be done. Who knows what scene of armageddon I will face when I return.

And another thing. Reputable companies. Do not bother contacting your customers by telephone – ever. There is no way that we can be sure it is you, so we are not going to give you any information of any kind. Telephone is no longer a valid way for you to contact us. Thank you.

Well it took 5 years for British Gas to send me a bill. Despite letting them know that I was moving in and chasing them every quarter. They kept telling me that there was no supply to my flat.

After sorting this out they then went another year before sending my next one. Yet they blame us for things like this and not themsleves.

A great advantage of being married is that when contacting companies by telephone to talk about, say, some financial agreement that you are both paying from your joint account, you can get to talk to a “customer service operative” by quoting your spouse’s name, address, date of birth and mother’s maiden name, but then be refused any discussion about your shared finances. Saying “It’s OK, my wife knows about our joint bank account” doesn’t work either.

I once told a telemarketer that there was no way I could veify that they are who they say they are.

The response was a week: “But I am who I say I am.”

Phone no longer a viable way to communicate with a companies customers…I love it! Does a way with telemarketing!
