Rob Lacey

I’ve just heard the sad news that Rob Lacey has died. Rob wrote ‘the Street Bible’ (latterly ‘the word on the street’) and was one of the best-known Christian actors in the UK.

I didn’t know Rob well, but did make contact with him a number of times after his visit to Moorlands College in 1997. Rob was doing his ‘People like us’ show as well as a few creative sort of lectures at the college. He came to my college abode and had a look at the cartoons I was doing at the time (He liked ‘Marge for Jesus’ I seem to remember) and gave advice and encouragement. I met him at Spring Harvest a few times after that and he was always interested to hear how things were going for me.

  1. Kristen (Thoughts from the Bus Stop) says:

The Lacey Theatre group put on several performances at Spring Harvest this year and Rob’s state of health was often mentioned in the evening celebrations, especially as his wife was due to give birth. One night, a huge picture of Rob, his wife and their newborn was flashed up on the big screen, to great applause.

Very sad news. Difficult to understand the purpose in this, but it’s surely in there somewhere.

  2. Joe says:

Sad news, he was a good guy.

  3. Jack the Lass says:

Really sad to hear this news.
