The catfood cupboard

When I go to Maddie_C’s house I have an overwhelming urge to arrange all the catfood in the cupboard in a sensible manner (Click on the image to see the cupboard in all its glory). It gives me an immense sense of wellbeing to see it all in order and arranged methodically.

If I was to apply this diligence to any other area of my life I would be either very rich or at least have all of my things arranged very neatly.

Cats are totally the best things in the world.

  2. Jack the Lass says:

But do you arrange by size and/or colour, or alphabetically?

By the way, I note the cat at the front of the picture. Is it* admiring your handiwork, or is it* just thinking “Feed me now?” I have my own suspicions, based on every other cat I have ever encountered, but you never know it* could surprise me.

    * sorry, I don’t know the cat’s gender. Do pass on my apologies, it won’t happen again.

  3. Nefertiki says:

I like Jack’s “feed me now” (a good caption) but also think kitty might be thinking, “what’s all the fuss about? It’s no more than I deserve.”

I’m sure that if I ever became that neat my friends would become worried about me and hold an intervention.

    That cupboard is glorious, though.

  4. Dave says:

Thanks for the cupboard compliments. The cat is a she. I don’t know what she is thinking – despite the fact that she sees a small item being taken from the cupboard just before she gets fed each time I don’t know whether she really knows it is the catfood cupboard. No, I really don’t know.

The items are arranged by type and flavour. There is a pile of ‘miscellaneous’ too.

The entire kitchen is of course arranged alphabetically, so there is a cupboard to the left containing ‘brushes’, and one to the right containing ‘dinners’.

Our cat has to make do with the bottom of the larder and we’ve given up on tins as she never seemed to eat their contents. She is an elderly lady, going on 18, so deserves to be pampered for a while. We get foil trays and sachets in boxes plus a bag of biscuits. They don’t take a lot of arranging, but if you ever want to sort out the tins of baked beans, sweetcorn, tomatoes and fruit when you’re passing, let me know. ;0)
