‘We Blog Cartoons’ update

cartoon from www.weblogcartoons.com
This has been added to We Blog Cartoons for free re-use on blogs. It’s one of the oldest cartoons that I’ve done that I allow to be seen in public. I drew it in 1997 I think. Thanks to Nefertiki who said it was her favourite and therefore reminded me that it would be a good one to make available.

Well, We Blog Cartoons has now been open a week. In this time:

A huge thankyou to everyone who has used cartoons and made encouraging comments so far. Please do continue to use them – thankyou!

How about that old classic, the ‘his friends told him the wetsuit didn’t suit him’ one? That’s always been my favourite, being a deeply insightful presentation of the mindset of inviduality… or something. I had a T-shirt with a siplified design based on that one made a while ago.
Is there a concious reason for the shift from sketchy drawing to clean drawing in your modern cartoons? I rather liked the sketchy details…

glad things are going well Dave!

Nice: dark and poignant. The detail, or ‘cleaness’ (Sam) conveys the sense very well. I hope doing these kind of drawings helps you Dave.

  4. Nefertiki says:

Congratulations on your Internet numbers being so good – and growing better all the time. And thanks for paying attention to your consumers’ wishes.

I love your cartoons. I found your site via your Dull Blog (which ROCKS, by the way, please keep updating) and I will definitely be back. You should make t-shirts out of these things.
