Update on my dental situation

I had to have a wisdom tooth out so am feeling sorry for myself. What a terrible business. I had forgotten how much it hurts and it took hours and hours to stop bleeding which was a bit worrying. I am taking life easy and being waited on hand and foot whilst watching Father Ted videos.

So, anyway, no more updates until tomorrow I suspect.

RE: Dentists (answer to Simo below). I have landed on my feet in that the local one is taking on new NHS patients. I have not been to the dentists for quite a long time because I could not find one taking on NHS patients or indeed in Eastbourne (which happens to be the home of the Dental Practice Board, the people responsible for NHS dentists) any dentists taking on new patients at all.

Take care of yourself Dave. I’m dreading the day when (if) mine need to come out.

  2. Tiffer says:

I am not sure if I have any? I haven’t really thought about it – I hope not. Hope you feel better soon Dave.

  3. Simo says:

I had 4 taken out all together about 13 years ago, since then all my wisdom has gone too! I would give details but they would put people off ever going to the dentist again, hope you don’t have too much swelling etc and you soon feel on top form again!

Oh dear. There sure is a reason why people flinch when just hearing the words ‘wisdom tooth.’ I hope this was your last one and in the future you can travel abroad without one starting to try to emerge painfully. That happened to me once and it was dispiriting to look at exotic menus searching for something that wouldn’t hurt my gums too badly. Also, re being waited on hand and foot, I hope you are milking the pain for all it’s worth; attention is good for the body and soul. Get well soon.

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes. I feel a lot better than I did, though I do have a perpetual mild headache even with painkillers.
