Another Fairtrade cartoon

fairtrade cartoon

Another Fairtrade cartoon – once again no charge for using this if it is for a display promoting Fairtrade products or Fairtrade Fortnight. You can grab a high resolution version here.

See also my other, not so funny Fairtrade cartoon.

Feel free to post either of these Fairtrade cartoons on your blog if you are posting about Fairtrade Fortnight (6-19th of March). A link back here would be great.

Is ‘fairtrade’ only for those of a light complexion. Or, have I missed the point?

  2. Dave says:

Ben – the cartoon really is nothing more than a play on the words ‘Fairtrade display’. I think you are reading things into it which aren’t there. Well, certainly not intentionally there.

There is of course an interesting discussion which one could have about how people of different complexion or race are depicted in a cartoon style that uses no shading. Perhaps one for another day.

I really wasn’t reading into it. I was just doing a play on words. I think.

My cartoons rarely involve anything other than sheep – and the most ethnically un-diverse sheep you can get to boot. I admire your skill in being able to draw over three different types of people – my dilemna is whether to give the sheep ears or not.

Thanks for this, Dave. It cheered up the bit about Fairtrade Fortnight I put on my homepage, and now that is over, I’ve found another handy use for it filling a gap I had http://www.generoustown.co.uk/challenges/ftchal.php (you may need to scroll down a bit)
