London flood preparations

london flood

Thanks to the splendid suggestions in the comments of the previous post I am keeping my eyes on the Environment Agency Thames page and beginning to think about considering assembling my apparatus. These will be some clearing of the clothes basket to be done so I will need to plan ahead.

I will have space on board for two of each kind. This means two bloggers and perhaps two idiots. Please comment below of you would like to be considered for one of these very limited spaces.

I would like to be considered for the position of a blogger (and idiot….take your pick), but only if the flood will be reaching as far as Staines. Otherwise, I think I will stay put and provide a refuge for the bloggers and idiots who were not able to join the ‘ark’. Does that sound like a plan?

As a Brightonian I’m not sure how at risk I am. If the flood comes this way I expect I will be found clinging to the top of one the domes of the Royal Pavilion. Should the ‘ark’ set sail, would you mind awfully steering a course south and picking me up, along with any other slightly idiotic bloggers from Brighton ‘n’ Hove?

I almost drowned in a really deep mud puddle once. I think it was last April. I’d like to be considered for a blogger position, as I write clever things (well, that’s what my mum says) and I’m very easily caricatured, which would seem to fit your professional needs.

I suggest you make your high perch a two-seater, unless Maddie intends to stay home with the cat.
