Still itchy after all these years

itchMy itch cartoon has been the cause of some debate in one or two places on the internet, including Sarah’s blog, Simon’s bus and the site of someone called Holy Phil. (I don’t know whether that is an ironic name or whether he is actually very holy. If I called this blog ‘holy Dave’s blog’ it would be ironic. But either way – fair dos to him.)

The cartoon was also discussed by the folks on the Norwich Youth for Christ discussion forum (who I had to tell off for minor breaches of the guidelines, but after much repentance, gnashing and wailing of teeth all was forgiven).

Was the cartoon autobigraphical? Well, maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t. But I always like it when something I draw starts a debate, even if sometimes people don’t come up with the opposite meaning to the one I hadn’t intended. If you see what I mean.

By the way, I’ve no idea what that title means. I just liked the sound of it.

Although having left Norfolk almost 11 years ago, I was heavily involved in YFC there and still know a few of the staff, they’re a strange bunch, but a good lot as well, although I’m not sure that any of the staff (at least not those I know) were in this conversation. The trouble is because Norfolk is so far away from the rest of the country (have you ever tried driving there even most of the A roads are county lanes!) some things take a while to get through.
