In defence of quiche, I think a hot one, especially home-made, is very tasty. Many bought quiches are horrible whatever you do with them and all quiches and savoury tarts deteriorate when cold.

A Quiche Lorraine should be made to the recipe used for quiche's in Lorraine and is a specific type of savoury tart. All other "quiches" are fake. :)

Quiche is so wrong. There is no debate to be had. Quiche should be banned and replaced by imaginative food at Christian events. Quiche is just a conspiracy passed down from Christian mums to Christian daughters. We shouldn't settle for inferior, unimaginative food. Quiche haters rise up and join the campaign to ban quiche forever!

I have to stand up for Quiche, in it’s proper form, none of this salmon and broccoli stuff, bacon and cheese, you can add some mushrooms and tomato of course but anything else is just wrong. It is after all one of the foundations of the church, if we do away with quiche things will just get out of control.

What I want to know is when it started being called quiche. That's when the rot set in.
When I were a lad we always 'ad "flan". Nobody 'ad 'eard of quiche. What's wrong with flan, I want to know?

I did hear of a TRUE and tragic story of a lady becoming very seriously ill after taking home some quiche from a church "do" I think she may even have died. I think all taste issues aside that's a fairly good argument for CAQ.

If the Christian world seems to be turning against quiche (and I don't believe for a moment that it is), it would do well to consider such proposals for the revitalisation of the church:

<a href="http://www.timble.me.uk/fun/item.php?name=quapiche" rel="nofollow">Qu-ap-iche - fast Christian food</a>

The main problem that I can see with quiche is that it is the most un-fooled-around-with "food" in the universe. The quiche-makers need to wake up and read the calendar and start making food fit for the 21st century. The Q thingy is not comfort food, it's not what we yearn for when stranded in traffic on the Interstate before lunch, therefore I think it is time for a modest solution. A post-modernist quiche needs to be contrived. Anyone may invent one. I'll start with a perhaps outlandish suggestion: take an ordinary crust dough and throw it in the air a few times to thin it out. Try to catch it as it falls without making holes in it. Then spread lightly with a mildly seasoned tomato sauce. Or not. Then add a melty cheese, and anything else you like like anchovies or fresh muschrooms. Even veggies. (not really.) Slide it into HOT wood-burning oven using a longhandled wood thingy until it is HOT and crust is golden brown, even a bit charred and eat while HOT and burns your lips. Now there's a quiche to contend with!
