How the Observer could increase their sales figures dramatically

It is my opinion, having studied the subject over a number of years, that the * and Observer* newspapers could increase their circulations dramatically if they somehow encouraged newsagents to stock their newspapers.

It is true here in Essex and it was true where I lived until recently in Berkshire. The Observer is usually unavailable and the Guardian, whilst better, is still sometimes hard to get. Perhaps they need to employ someone in a little office somewhere to spend their days telephoning Essex newsagents and generally being nice to them.

Yes, I know, I could have a word with the newsagent myself, but it is easier to have a moan here on the blog.

*Please note: Other newspaper titles are available.

Update: I have done ‘tags’ on the Technorati internet web system to alert the powers that be as I know that the people from the Guardian spend all day surfing the internet. Unfortunately my tags don’t seem to be working. Perhaps Technorati doesn’t connect with the Essex bit of the internet. In fact, does anyone connect with the Essex bit of the internet? Calling the world, do you receive me, over?

I would be happy if the Grauniad and Observer were not available more widely. I’d be even happier if we had a press that was owned by a greater number of proprieters. If only there was a way to report news without biase from any viewpoint….

  2. Neil says:

The Guardian has a real stronghold in Exeter, I really can’t explain why. I know it would be meddling with years of history the the Observer could do better calling itself the Sunday Guardian, I know many people who don’t realise the two titles are related.

    Neil – are they? I didn’t know that :(

Dave – Kent and Cambridge bits of the internet seem to work fine with Essex internet, in my experience, if that’s any consolation …
