Take the dreariness out of making links

Dear Bloggers of the world,

Do you ever get bogged down by the tiresome chore that is writing the code for links in your blog posts? I know I do. Yes, I know, these days you can click little whathaveyous on your blog dashboard to speed things up, but you can’t deny it’s still a bit tiresome.

But wait, there is another option. I installed the Make Link extension for the Firefox browser and my life has been transformed. I simply right click on the page I want to link to then click ‘paste’ in my blog and lo and /or behold, there it is. A fully pre-formed link. You can even customise it to make the links appear in the form you want them to. Isn’t that a wonder and a marvel?

I considered my life nothing but toil, but now it is nothing but joy. You should try it.

What a wonderful thing you have discovered, Dave. I am so happy for you.

I would have a similar frustration myself, but for the fact that Blogger.com’s editor has a feature whereby I highlight the text I wish to make into a link, it gives me an input box, into which I can copy and paste the URL from the address bar of another browser in which I found the linkee page.

    Easy, huh?

Sam, thank you for sharing in my happiness.

Wordpress does have such a feature too, but this cuts down the number of clicks required. At least, I think it does. I’d sit down and check, but my new vigour and enthusiasm for life doesn’t permit me the time to do so.
