10 reasons to not nominate me for the Bloggies

The Weblog awards known as the Bloggies are currently accepting nominations. Until Tuesday I think. These are ten of the categories you should not nominate me for because I really do not deserve them:

Best Australian or New Zealand Weblog
Because I do not live there. Darren the Problogger does though.

Best British or Irish Weblog
No no no. Diamond Geezer deserves this one I think for his services to diligent blogging.

Best Tagline of a Weblog
‘By Dave Walker’? Dear me, someone can do better than that.

Best Craft Weblog
Whilst my Christmas card post was quite good I do feel that a craft weblog ought to involve beads. Lots and lots of beads.

Best Topical Weblog
I tend to wander off topic rather too much and start talking about turkey best before dates and things.

Most Humorous Weblog
Come on now. I can’t compete with JonnyB.

Best Writing of a Weblog
I don’t really thinking that the writing on the blog is quite enough to be good enough that it could get it to the right level for it.

Best-Designed Weblog
Ahem. I really must redraw that un-plugged-in church.

Best-Kept-Secret Weblog
It wouldn’t be a secret then would it?

Lifetime Achievement
One has to have been blogging since 2001 to get this. In 2001 I was concentrating on building up a collection of ‘Now that’s what I call music’ records on vinyl I seem to remember (I have up to Now 17, but that’s a post for another day).

    Dave, is this the “I am not a candidate and if elected I will not serve” sort of thing? A bit confusing because if you hadn’t declared ineligiblity I would not have known about the awards or where to vote!

    I have to admit that I fully intend to nominate you but am not saying in which category – yet. Is it okay if I remind people on another site as well as friends in high places to vote?

    And yes, JonnyB is a fine blogger, even if he did deprive his kid of the opportunity to look adorable in a rabbit suit.

    Nefertiki, far be it from me to tell you that you cannot tell people on other high sites and in other holy places how to vote. If you were to tell them to vote for me far be it from me to tell you that you could not do so.

    Well, yes, I might be. Or I might not be.

    The judges for the Bloggies will be getting their e-mails today. Not that I have been taking any interest. I noticed you being British and Humourous in your recent posts Jonny – I on the other hand am being Topical, Crafty and a Well Kept Secret.
