Papercraft toys

From 1923, these little mechanical paper models look quite fun.

I haven’t tried them and I imagine you’d need to print them out on quite sturdy card or they’d be floppy. Someone in the comments section on the linked-to site has an idea for doing the joints, but there are probably different ways you could do them.
