I’ve learnt, via the Drawn blog that this weekend is the American National Cartoonists Society awards, the Reuben Awards. They are named after Rube Goldberg, whose inventions ‘have become synonymous with any maximum effort to achieve minimal results’. They are quite fun to look at, and include a mechanism to help you ‘Keep from Forgetting to Mail your Wife’s Letter‘ and a ‘Safety Device for Walking on Icy Pavements‘. See a selection on this page.
